CHARACTER DESIGN
The following character design was developed as part of an advertising strategy for a hypothetical product called "NuV." The product is supposed to revitalise your mind & body making you feel years younger. I went for a very retro approach with the drawing style and was quite happy with the result (gotta love the handlebar moustache!)
Here's a couple of rough-looking characters that I'm working on for a personal revision of Sir Alfred Noyes' (1880-1958) poem, "The Highwayman."

Recently, I've been doing some work for an upcoming site called "Podcast Active". The illustration below is used as a 'teaser' and is a little play on the old King Kong metaphor. The logo design itself is based on a combination radio antenna (hence the lightning bolts) and the Australian 'Explicit Lyrics' advisory sticker, commonly found on audio CDs. The design was roughed out in Flash and finished in Illustrator.

This character was developed for an upcoming medical DVD called "Baby Helper" and is supposed to imbue a sense of wisdom and congeniality combined with a little superhero pizzaz.
The next images were used for a historical project on the history of popular television. The first represents two members of CSI and the second (complete with chest rug) is Dave "The Hoff" Hasslehoff.
